About Douwe
Douwe van der Meer is a researcher specialising in geopolitics and security in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. He has written on these topics for various publications. Douwe holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Leiden University and previously interned at the Clingendael Institute and the Istanbul Policy Center. He has served as an election observer in Albania, Bosnia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Serbia, and has lived in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey.
